The Power of Play: Bringing Communities Together
Find out everything you ever wanted to know about our mission for Lester Community Playground. Patty Esslinger and Peg Chaidez were guests on The Weapons of Change Podcast and explain all the “whys” behind what we do:

It’s the 10th month of the year and The Matesi Family has generously pledged to MATCH dollar for dollar up to $10,000 of all donations made by October 31, 2019! If 10 families donate $1,000 each, or 20 families donate $500 each or 100 families donate $100 each, along with The Matesi Family’s pledge, we will be at least $20,000 closer to our fundraising goal deadline of December 31, 2019 AND one step closer to breaking ground on Phase 1 of our brand new inclusive playground! Who’s ready for the challenge? Donate today!

How big can you dream?

Lester Community Playground was established with the goal of replacing the outdated playground equipment at Lester Elementary School that is currently not accessible to all students and members of the local community. We intend to build an inclusive playground that provides equipment that is accessible to children of all abilities and developmental levels.

Through the cognitive, social and physical values of play, the corporation will promote a spirit of inclusion, enhance the quality of life, as well as support involvement in recreation and wellness activities for all people and abilities.

This playground will serve not only the students at the school, but also the community, parents, siblings, and grandparents of all ages and abilities.
